  • WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THERAPY?
    Therapy can help you to feel peaceful, grounded, and confident as you work through the underlying issues that may be contributing to your anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or other mental health struggles. Therapy allows you to explore who you are without judgment and the benefits of therapy are specific to each client’s unique situation and goals. Therapy can provide a safe and supportive space to create more meaningful relationships, address mental health issues, gain greater clarity and direction, change unhealthy patterns, heal trauma, and increase overall happiness by developing new ways of relating to yourself and your life.
  • IS THERAPY CONFIDENTIAL?
    Confidentiality is what makes my clients' relationship with me different than most other relationships and it is a big piece of what makes therapy so effective. What is shared between my clients and myself is confidential and protected by law. There are some exceptions to confidentiality that will be explained in our initial session so that I can answer any questions that you may have.
  • WHAT IS ONLINE THERAPY (AKA TELETHERAPY OR TELEHEALTH)?
    Online therapy, also often referred to as teletherapy or telehealth, is a way to take part in therapy right from the comfort of your own home, office, car, or from any location that is convenient for you. Hello Jill Therapy offers online therapy through a secure platform called Simple Practice. Each of your scheduled sessions with me will have a unique link that will be sent to you prior to each session so that you can access the virtual waiting room within the site. Your sessions can be accessed on your desktop or laptop computer or through the Telehealth By Simple Practice app on your smartphone. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, I am able to offer online therapy to any client located within the state.
  • WHY CHOOSE ONLINE THERAPY?
    Often times, one of the biggest barriers to therapy is actually getting to the office for an appointment. Life can be so busy and full of commitments and sometimes that hour each week can be hard to fit in between work, home, and personal life. Online therapy saves the time it takes getting to an appointment and can even ease the worry about child care. Therapy should never be an added stress, it should be a stress-relief. Sometimes, it can also be difficult for some clients to open up in an unfamiliar office setting and online therapy can be a great alternative as you are sitting in a place of your choosing that feels comfortable and safe to you. Online therapy is a powerful tool and has been shown to be just as if not more effective than traditional face-to face sessions and clients love the convenience that it brings.
  • WHY CONSIDER IN-HOME OR OUTDOOR THERAPY?
    In addition to online therapy or telehealth, Hello Jill Therapy also offers both in-home and outdoor therapy when appropriate. Both in-home and outdoor therapy can be a perfect option for clients with busy and time constrained lives, those working from home, or for couples and families that would just prefer to meet in their own homes or at an outdoor location. In-home and outdoor therapy can be especially good for families, as this type of therapy allows me to observe interactions between family members in their own environment. It can also be a very personalized approach when working with couples and can be a wonderful way to work with children, teens, and young adults who prefer in-person as opposed to online therapy. This personalized approach can help the therapeutic relationship to develop more quickly and offers the flexibility of in-home, walk and talk, and even coffee talk sessions.   • HOW LONG WILL THERAPY LAST?
    There is no set end date for therapy, but there is also no obligation and you can stop therapy whenever it feels right for you. Every client's journey and treatment plan is different and the timeline depends on a wide range of factors including what issues you are addressing and how quickly you make progress toward your goals. Hello Jill Therapy offers both short-term and long-term therapy and I tailor my approach to each specific client. I can help you to determine which approach is right for you once we start working together. Throughout the process, I will help you to track your progress and help you get to a place where you feel confident maintaining the changes that you have made on your own.
  • HOW LONG ARE THERAPY SESSIONS AND HOW OFTEN WILL WE MEET?
    Each therapy session is 50 minutes in length and clients typically begin the therapy process by meeting with me once per week. Some clients move to every other week once they begin to make progress toward their goals. Research shows that regular and consistent therapy is the most effective way to facilitate change.
  • HOW MUCH DOES THERAPY COST AND WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS FOR PAYMENT?
    Therapy is possibly one of the most important investments you can make in yourself, in your relationships, and in your family life. Hello Jill Therapy fees range depending on the type of service provided. Please feel free to contact me directly to discuss so that I can answer any questions that you may have. I am currently contracted with and an in-network provider for Aetna, Cigna and Magellan, which is the mental health provider for most people with Blue Shield of California. I am also an out-of-network provider for most other PPO insurance companies and am happy to provide a monthly superbill for you to submit for possible partial reimbursement for your therapy services. This is a helpful option for many, as clients often have had a hard time finding an experienced and seasoned in-network therapist that is a great fit. I can help to walk you through this process. I accept credit and debit cards for payment as well as Flexible and Health Savings Account payments.
